He actually got to meet his envisioned Guru revered Jagjit Singh on 5th December 2005   after quite a period of 20 years after he began treading the path , & received his blessings.

In his own words:

It’s a long distance to success but it pays when it is covered in a short span and then the journey begins in a mystique world of applause and praise. Sure the early beginner wins name and fame. The audience is unaware of the hardship and the endeavour behind it.
Sanjaye Vatsal (Sanjay Banubakode) sure was a great achiever to win it in his teenage when he passed his Radio audition in the first attempt when he was yet to be polished- an un-cut diamond- natural gifted artist. He had unparalleled sense for composing music though his selection was for his voice as singer.

He was liked by multiplicity of the choice in all sectors of singing from popular music to classical, from songs to ghazals. He was flawless but tried after the masters as Jagjitsingh and Mehdi Hassan . He followed their tradition with intimacy but not slavishness. He adapted what they served to the audience as good taste- palatable but hygienic, save from corrupt mixture, truly original. Thus audience found in him Jagjitsingh as Jagjitsingh and Mehdi Hassan as Mehdi Hassan.
He is the owner of original voice and he can manoeuvre it so as to the effect he wins over “ the Mehfil ”- the concert. The articulate lyric of ghazal comes alive in his voice.

“ Unke dum se teri ghazal SHAHID ..
Sari mehfil ki jaan banti hai..”

And  he becomes the gracious- Baadshah  an uncrowned king.

“ Mujhe khuda ne ghazal ka dayar bakhsha hai..
Ye saltnat main mohabbat ke naam karta hoon”

He proclaims to owe his kingdom to affection and love.

He is happy with his life and is thankful for it

“ Tune manzil pe pahuncha diya..
                          Shukriya shukriya zindagi..”

He is not concerned with the life span, all that matters to him is the happiness

                     Yaar phoolon ki zindagi dekho..
Do ghadi hai magar khushi dekho..”

He enjoys it with his beloved

                     “ Door gaganka poora chaand..
                       Shaakh pe girkar toota chaand..
                       Chhupkar roz nikalta hai..
                       Bilkul tere jaisa chaand..”

He expects response from the exponent.
No response also becomes an untold tale - telltale.

“ Kuchch to kahiye ke kuchch na kahne se..
                             Unkahi dastaan banti hai..”

He is not prepared to part with near and dears as it inhibits the progress of life.
“ Kaisa manzar hai ye bichhadne ka..
Umre rafta bhi hai thamii dekho “

He finds an opportunity in the light of great masters. Still insists on recognition to and cognizance of his own light in their absence.

“ Chaand odhe huwe hai baadal ko..
                    Aaj jugnoo ki roshni dekho.”

He believes confrontation refining one’s personality and considers it as opportunity and respects the opponents for providing it.

“ Mukhaalifat se meri shakhsiyat sanwarti hai..
Main dushmanon ka bada ehteraam karta hoon..”

Keep distance from extremely sophisticated people and don’t reveal to them your cherished matters, he proposes.

“ Behad shareef logon se kuchch fasila rakho..
Pee lo magar kabhi na kaho tum nashe mein ho.”

Heart seizing singing, Mastery upon notes and words, deep-serene enchanting voice makes as much Ghazals through his lips capturing the audience and keep them spell bound, so also his pious songs and bhajans sung with equal ferver bathe the audience in the oceans of joy. He presents the Ghazals of hon'ble Jagjit Singhji, Mehdi Hassanji, with all their variations. So also he sings his own compositions full of vividness. His Compositions are heart touching and have been appreciated by great and well known personalities and audience too.
